Christmas 2006
Merry Christmas!
We are having a merry Christmas over here in the desert. After several weeks (yes, weeks!) of rain, the sun has returned and the weather is glorious. Our first official Christmas function this year was to have the neighbours over for some Christmas cheer the other night.
We have been neighbours with these people for four years, which in ex-pat years is a lifetime. In the middle are Loek and Yvonne from South Africa, and Ian and Marilyn on the the right, from the UK.
By the way, I have officially put in my notice to resign from the college in June after 6.5 years, which is the longest I have worked anywhere in my entire life. So, some people may think of that as a present as well (either from me leaving or coming!! haha).

Hi Berns - I hope you are right about Lebanon. Even my Lebanese friends aren't going to Lebanon right now. Well, if things get hairy, just escape through Syria and come to Dubai. I have put in my official notice at the college and now the fight is on to get our villa and my job. I guess I better start looking in earnest for a job in Nova Scotia.
