At Easter, we went to Newfoundland to visit Annette's mother, sisters and friends. We were very fortunate to have some absolutely lovely weather while there. The first few days we stayed with Annette's friend, Natalie, who was a lovely host and showed us where to get the best cod in town. Most of the time was spent staying with Annette's sister and visiting her mom who is living in a retirement home in Paradise, just outside of St. John's.

St. John's from Signal Hill. This is from where the first trans-atlantic wireless signal was sent.
The Rooms - a museum and new landmark in downtown St. John's. The views of the city from inside are spectacular.
The Rooms from Shea Heights - they stand out!
Entrance to George Street - "right downtown". This area is famous to most Canadians.
A local restaurant - I am sure they are more polite than might be suggested by the name!
The Battery - Along the Harbour.
We were treated to an iceburg sitting just outside the harbour entrance. The remains of Fort Amherst are sitting in the foreground.
