On the Creek

One of the lovely benefits of living right on the entrance to the creek (:?: the Ras Al Khaimah Harbour) is that we get to watch a wide variety of people, ships and boats go past our living room window. By virtue of our (due) west facing living room and patio, we also get see a spectacular sunset everyday. :>>

Just to remind everyone of exactly where we are, here is a small map to show our location in RAK.

For reference, the villa is about 20 meters from the shore. Almost all photos are taken from either our balcony or from the patio. => One or two of the "people" photos, and of course the photo of the villa, were taken from the shoreline. On another note, you can also visit our Photo Gallery to see a wider range of photos.

The first series of photos (click on the small arrows in the bottom right corner to view the gallery) are a few of the variety of ships that go past our window. Some, such as the first one, are actually quite a distance from the villa, but yet in our line of sight. Some are right in front of us.

This next series of photos includes some of the people that we see making use of the water, including a group of college students preparing for dragon boat racing, fishermen, and the odd sailor hanging off the deck.

The final series are some shots of the local scenery including the sunset and our villa.

Just for good measure, it seemed necessary to show just where we are sitting when we see these ships and people go by, and where we are to view the sunset.

Still on the patio - it must be sunset time.
