Christmas day

We celebrated Christmas day by waking up early and opening our presents. Then I went off to work and taught several classes, since it was just a regular day at the college. I then slipped out early so we could go along to the neighbours (seen below in a previous post). Marilyn cooked a lovely turkey dinner for us and we washed it down with a few bottles of excellent white wine.

Before dinner

Ian and Marilyn’s daughter Emma also joined us. She has been working in Dubai for a couple of years now and we see her quite often when she comes around to get some pool time.

We also celebrated by giving Bella a bath!

Bella gets a bath

We didn’t actually bath her on Christmas day, but did so a couple of days before. Thus, she was nice and clean for all our visitors. We have to bath her because she cannot keep her long, coarse fur clean without human intervention. Unlike Donna who can keep herself nice and clean, Bella has trouble licking all that fur and can get quite dirty. This problem is accentuated by her habit of hiding in the dust that gathers under furniture.
