Hiking in RAK

The other day I went on a hike organized by Andy, one of my new colleagues, a fellow Canadian from Vancouver. We met at the college parking lot and then drove towards Wadi Bih – a dry river bed that falls out of the mountains.

The first part the hike was fairly steep, but we were rewarded with a a nice view to encourage us to go further.

As we continued to climb the view to the west cleared the surrounding hills and we were greeted by the nearly setting sun

We stopped for a breather and Andy made a nice silhouette against the sun.

Near the peak, I came as close as I dared to the edge of the 800 or 900 foot drop and posed.

The entire climb down was facing the west and the setting sun provided a nice scene for us enjoy.
