Camping in the Mountains

A week or two ago we decided to head for the mountains and check out one of our favourite camping spots from our days in Dubai. This map will show you where we went in relation to Ras Al Khaimah. If you click on the link for the larger map, you can then click on each placemark to see what the area looks like.

On the way into the wadi, we passed the entrance to the Six Senses Spa.

At the top of the hill in the background, is a spectacular view of Zighy Bay (pronounced Sidg-y or something like that).

Zighi from the top

The last time we drove the top, which was in 2006, we were spectators to this dare devil display:

As drove on into the Wadi Beah, the walls of the wadi became higher and closer together.

Higher

And a bit closer again.

And closer

Once we reached the top…

And sat down to read a good book for a little while.

After a bit of R&R, we went for a hike,
