Hike V-3

Yes, this is the third blog about hiking! I am not running out of things to do, I just find such motivation when hiking about the mountains taking in the sunsets and peaks.

On top of the great exercise we get clambering up these slopes, we also enjoy panoramic views all the way.

The days are short below the tropic of cancer and getting shorter. As we strive to get down before dark, we are rewarded with some lovely sunset views. The dust of the desert and the haze of the Persian Gulf combine to give us some vivid colours.

The burning bush

Sometimes we do not beat the sun and have to trust to the moonlight to get us back to the cars.

Along the way, we often see huts and other structures in various states of repair. In this crumbling hut, the thickness of the roof was noteworthy.

Thick walls and roof keep out the heat.

Just for fun, if you are a Google Earth fan, you can click here or here to see where in the world we are hiking.

Here are a few more shots of friends and locations.
