JVT – Jumeirah Village Triangle

As you may already know, we have moved to Dubai from RAK. This move was precipitated by the offer of a great job for Annette at her former place of employment – The American School of Dubai. After I successfully applied for a faculty position at Sharjah Women’s College and a couple months of negotiations for the transfer, we were cleared to look for a villa. After another month or so of hunting and a few close calls, we finally found this villa.

Jumeirah Village Triangle, District 8, Villa # 17

We wondered why people put their sitting areas so far from their villas, but once we sat down at our palm-tree table, we realized that it is quite nice to sit back and enjoy a view of the villa.

Great place for a beverage

In case you don’t have a clear idea yet, here are a couple more shots…

The deck on the front of the villa is quite spacious and has a view of the Dubai Marina in the distance.

We have just moved in and so have not really unpacked. That is why Annette won’t open the door quite yet.

Welcome!

Finally, as I was driving about the other day, I passed two of Dubai’s most famous landmarks.

The Burj Khalifa
