Jungle Book Hike

Taking advantage of a long weekend, a bunch of guys from the HCT (and me) went off on a hike through the Jungle Book Wadi again. I did this hike about one year ago.

The first section of the hike is a 2-3 hour leisurely stroll through boulders…

Large boulders impeded our path

… and wide open wadi walls.

Awesome scenery

You need to be careful, watch your footing and not stare up at the scenery too much.

Note to self – watch the horns

After a short break in a bowl like area…

Dried fruit and water anyone?

… we started to run into waterfalls which forced us to scale the wall at points and creep along ledges.

High walls

We were not the first people here – convenient hut

After 3-4 hours into the hike, we were starting to focus on our feet and try to keep going. After all, the entire time, we were going …

Going up, but looking down

… up and …

The dreaded “rope”

… up.

Just when you think its over… 45 minute hike straight up to finish!
