The fourth annual horseshoe tournament was held on July 27. Again, the weather was perfect, with a lovely breeze to blow away all of the flies and keep the temperature moderated to a very comfortable level.
This year, perhaps because the tournament was held later in the season, the attendee list was slightly smaller than in past years. However we still managed to field five solid teams.
Some of the teams showed off their photogenic qualities while everyone was still smiling before the competition really started to get fierce.
As the spectators became less thirsty…
… the other spectators grew more sober as they watched the ringers start to pile up.
A number of judgments were needed to sort out the tight throwing.
Sometimes, there were two ringers in one end.
Other people just started to pile one on top of another…
Sue gets three and more.
Tony, Sue’s partner, shows us why they eventually…
…won the tournament for 2013!
Their names now proudly sit with previous winners.
We then ‘went up’ and had a seat in the sun.
Following some tall stories, we started our annual BBQ with kebabs for everyone complemented by lovely salads and desserts brought by the competitors.
The annual tournament slowly drifted off into the night…
Since there were so many other great moments during the tournament, here are a few shots of the competition.
