Christmas 2015 – Port Mouton

This year we spent our Christmas holidays safe and sound in Port Mouton, away from the distractions of the outside world. We had visitors from ‘The Rock’ come and stay with us as well. Annette’s sister Maureen and her husband Terry came for a week to eat, drink and be merry.

We were lucky to have some great weather in between the rainy days. We went for some long walks…

… checked on the Bells Point public library…

… wandered along the shore…

… and went to the beach! Who cares if the temperature is minus 2?

While our visitors were visiting, we took advantage of their kind nature to get some work out of them. It was rather fun though, and so we didn’t feel too bad about this.

Getting the fire going – The burning bush – err, brush

Of course, we also had gluwein (AKA mulled wine) on the deck during the fire to help us keep warm. The fire helped us keep warm as well!

We had some foggy weather on one day…

and then, finally, a snowy white Christmas!

The only issue was that our guests had already returned home and so the storage shed was left empty during the storm.

However, we are not daunted by a bit of snow. With the garden spirit watching us…

… we settled in for a quiet night by the fire.

Outdoor fires are better than indoor fires.

We captured a bit of the snow on video. I am sure we will have had enough of snow in a few months, but for now, this was the first snow fall we had seen in years.
