Walk from Bondi to Coogee

Australians love to go walking. In fact, they have an entire industry designed around walks. They have lots of walking trails and books written to help you find those trails. My previous post about the Convict Trail is a great example of this. Another great, and perhaps ‘famous’ walk is the Bondi Beach to Coogee Beach Walk. This is truly a spectacular walk and a must for anyone visiting Sydney.

The walk starts on the Bondi Beach. Of course, you can do it in reverse, or you can park anywhere along the way. We parked at Clovelly Surf Club where they have a large and free parking lot.

We then walked towards Coogee Beach, past the seagulls and then caught the bus at Coogee back to Bondi.

Back at Bondi, we got onto the trail and started to walk. The views are fantastic whichever way you look.

There are several smaller beaches along the way including Tamarama Beach.

There are also some rocky shoreline areas which provide great photo opportunities.

This walk is so popular that along the way we even saw a pod of dolphins swimming along the walk! I know they are a bit distant in the photo, but I also thought the sight was quite the thing.

You can the pod in this picture of the shoreline along Bronte Beach and Tamarama in the distance.

Along the way the trail passes through a graveyard. While I am in no hurry to end there, is it quite the view to enjoy for all eternity.

The last stretch of the walk before Clovelly boasts a lawn bowling club. These clubs are scattered all around Sydney. After watching a few throws, it struck me that it is basically curling on grass. The main difference is that the view is much nicer and the environment is a little bit warmer.
