Once you get your machinery to the woods, then you need to haul your trailer around through ‘roads’ in the woods.
You need to get as close as possible to the piles of wood you have left all over the place …
… and then load ‘er up!
I am not sure how much a loaded trailer weighs, but I suspect quite a lot. The ATV hardly seems up to the job, but watch this …
The bouncing and tugging of the trailer causes all sorts of unexpected issues. For example, the hitch takes a beating and can actually work loose.
Luckily, in this case we were able to move some of the wood over the axle and so then push the tongue of the trailer back down onto the hitch on the ATV – once we adjusted the hitch itself.
After a few more trips …
We filled the truck and took it all home.
Then, the real fun begins – splitting the wood and stacking in our shed.
