We have spent another excellent summer in Port Mouton and Nova Scotia.

Although we did have quite a bit of rain, the sun did shine and we were able to get around and very much enjoy our piece of paradise on the ocean. When the sun was shining, we did our best to sit here …

… and when it wasn’t, we sat here:

Just for the record, here is a wider view of the deck, or perhaps porch?

And pretty much whether it was raining or sunny, at night we sat here.

Or even here.

Between visitors, and with visitors we visited some of our favourite places in the local ‘hood. These locales include the Keji Seaside Adjunct where you can find pitcher plants …

… purple orchids …

… and white orchids.

Keji Seaside is also a great place to see seals …

Another favourite locale is Carter’s Beach and Wobamkek Beach, just across the harbour mouth from Bell’s Point and our deck.

We managed to get out of Queen’s county and tour around Nova Scotia to some of our favourite spots including to Sambro Head …

… where we had our France boat trip reunion.

We also made the annual pilgrimage to PEI (Prince Edward Island) for the Leslie family reunion …

… stopping en route to visit River John and the Lewis Family cottage – and of course, Linda!

While there, we saw a bald eagle standing in the mud flats presumably fishing. I guess this is not so odd, but was certainly the first time I had ever seen anything like this.

I made the annual trek to Chezzetcook as well. What happens at the cabin stays at the cabin ♠♣♥♦.

Back at Bell’s Point, we have been nurturing and caring for quite a range of flowering trees including a number of Cornus Cusa, AKA Flowering Dogwood, and several species of Magnolia, known locally as ‘Maggies’. We finally had one flower after about 10 years of attentive care.

We have also been carefully practicing some silviculture around the property and the trees are starting to respond.

Just to flesh out the post, here are a few more photos of the summer holidays.
