Family visitors from Afar

Not long into the new year, we had another set of visitors arrive – nieces and their spouses from the far reaches of Canada. They were on a short but world spanning trip and stopped in Dubai and the UAE for about 8 days to check out Dubai, do a Liwa desert tour and pop up to Al Ain for a few days.

Being a rather short visit, we did a whirlwind tour around Al Ain, making sure to be in every picture!

One of my favourite places to visit is the Bawadi Livestock Market. In the pet store area, you can find some rather unfortunate examples, but there is a great falcon vendor.

Another of our favourite places is the Magic Forest. It is not so much a forest, but a bunch of trees growing in the desert. Now, there are a lot of camel and goat farms in the area.

A highlight was our visit to a local market area to get Cam’s iphone fixed. While there, we wandered into a ‘trading center’ where we found these marvelous wraps from Jordan. Cam and Eric just had to have them.
